Highlights from Pharmapack Paris 2023

Pharmapack 2023 edition was the stage of several new tailored solutions in pharma packaging, drug delivery devices, and contract manufacturing.
Also for us it was a great opportunity to showcase our latest innovations aimed to transform the business of our clients as well as and improve patients' lives.
Check below the show highlights or watch the interview with Silvia Gallina, Product Management Syringes Platform at Stevanato Group, providing a complete overview of the relevant news presented in Pharmapack.

Drug containment solutions

At Stevanato Group, innovation never stops and Pharmapack was the ideal stage to introduce our new drug containment solutions granting an optimized patient experience.

  • Nexa FlexTMpre-sterilized polymer syringe is a further addition, widening our syringes portfolio. Available both in COP (Cyclic Olefin Polymer) and COC (Cyclic Olefin Copolymer) material, customers can now benefit from an unmatched offering on both glass and polymer solutions.
  • New Special Thin-wall Needle, with a large-diameter internal channel. The 27G ½" needle has been specially designed to optimize the delivery of viscous biologics via auto-injector – avoiding the need for bigger needles and therefore improving the patient experience.

Drug delivery devices

We showcased two recent innovations in Drug delivery devices. The first relates to Alina® pen injector, our platform device for variable and multi-dose treatments for conditions such as diabetes and obesity. Thanks to its intuitive, user-friendly design, with minimal user steps, Alina® is improving the patient experience and encourage compliance.

The On-Body Delivery System (OBDS) was also on display at our booth, in the version developed in collaboration with Bexson Biomedical, Inc. It consists of a disposable pod with a pre-loaded cartridge and a reusable controller to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including treatment-resistant depression and PTSD.

Contract manufacturing

The partnership with Owen Mumford for Aidaptus® auto-injector is progressing and evolving. At Pharmapack, Adam Stops, Head of Product Management Drug Delivery Systems at Stevanato Group and Richard Harrison, Product Development Manager at Owen Mumford Pharmaceutical Services led a workshop entitled "Collaborating to Simplify Device Development and Optimize Glass Solutions for Auto-Injectors".

They underlined the benefits of a partnership between a device designer and a manufacturer in de-risking the programs of the clients.

It was a great experience to participate in Pharmapack and meet all the customers and partners visiting our booths.

We look forward to the next edition in 2024!
